Teens

Everyone says I’m emotional,
But they don’t see all the changes that I’m going through.
My voice is changing and my body as well,
All I want to do is belong and be accepted in the clique.

My parents always say I’m egocentric, but they don’t know how hard this is,
If only they could understand, If only they could be me.
They say I must be responsible, but how can I with all these responsibilities.
I strive for independence, but I still need dependency.
They may call me rebellious and that will always be me,
Until I find my identity.
